MINI Asia has launched the 1965 Victory Edition, a limited-run model paying tribute to the brand’s landmark win at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, now available in Singapore across two variants of the John Cooper Works lineup.
The edition commemorates Timo Mäkinen and co-driver Paul Easter’s victory in the Mini Cooper S at Monte Carlo — a race that cemented the original Mini’s reputation for agility and performance under extreme conditions. MINI Asia Head Daren Ching described the launch as a way to bring “the heart and soul of that moment with a modern drive.”
Two Powertrain Options for Singapore
In Singapore, the 1965 Victory Edition is offered in two configurations. The MINI John Cooper Works petrol variant produces 231 hp with 380 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.1 seconds. The all-electric MINI John Cooper Works Electric delivers up to 258 hp (190 kW) and completes the same sprint in 5.9 seconds.
Exterior: Racing Livery Reimagined

The edition’s exterior draws directly from 1960s motorsport aesthetics. The body is finished in Chili Red with a white trim stripe running from the bonnet across the roof and rear. A white “52” graphic on both sides references the race number of the original 1965 Monte Carlo car, while a “1965” sticker on the C-pillar marks the year of the victory.
The Glazed White panoramic roof provides contrast against the red bodywork. Wheels are 18-inch alloys in JCW Lap Spoke 2-tone Design for the petrol variant, or JCW Mastery Spoke black for the electric model. Rally-inspired details include floating centre hubs and JCW tyre valve caps in the edition’s colour scheme.
Interior: Heritage Details Throughout
Inside, door sills feature white “1965” lettering on a red and black background, and each model includes a door-panel dedication referencing the Monte Carlo rally. The cabin follows the standard JCW colour palette of anthracite and red.
Edition-specific touches extend to the sports steering wheel’s 6 o’clock spoke, the centre console storage box — both carrying “1965” lettering — and the key cap, which bears the racing number of the original victorious Cooper S. The combination is designed to keep the 1965 heritage present throughout the ownership experience rather than limiting it to the exterior.
