Vivo is launching its latest flagship smartphone, Nex 3, on Saturday, 2 November 2019.
Nex 3 will come with a notch-free waterfall display and a triple camera setup that houses a 64MP main camera with built-in intelligent applications.
For the specs geeks, Nex 3 runs on Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, has 8GB of RAM and internal storage of 256GB. It also comes with NFC, though we don’t think a lot of Singaporeans know how exactly to use it. But a nice touch anyway.
What should put a wide smile on your face is the 4,500 mAh battery that should last you more than a day. If you need a quick charge, vivo’s FlashCharge 22.5W should help you juice up in no time.
The device is running on Funtouch OS 9.1, which is developed based on Android 9.0. Not to worry you can access the Google Play Store with it. So it’s safe.
Jovi, vivo’s AI assistant
Vivo also has its own AI assistant named Jovi, which you can trigger on the Nex 3. What it can do is similar to other smart assistants – support you with your daily tasks, help you categorise your photo albums thanks to the improved Jovi Image Recogniser, and do searches based on scenes, group faces and more.
Triple camera setup (Rear)
Like we mentioned above, Nex 3 has a triple camera setup – a 64MP main camera, 13MP wide-angle camera and a 13MP telescopic camera. So you will have no problem taking the perfect shot in whichever format you like, including macro.
According to vivo, the camera will also have new features such as “Portrait Master’s Hyper-HDR of up to 7.65ev – designed for portraits, by increasing dynamic range accuracy between a user’s face and the background’s brightest spot.” It should provide you with a clear and less blown out shot even against backlight.
Nex 3 has a notch-less display, which means the front camera must be hidden somewhere. You might have already guessed it. Nex 3 has a 16MP Elevating Front Camera. Once you switch to the front camera to take a selfie, it’ll slide out smoothly through a purpose-fit motor and a customised gearbox.
The vivo Nex 3 will be available from 2 November 2019 starting at S$1,299 without a contract through major operating telcos such as M1, Singtel and StarHub.
As part of the launch, vivo will be holding a #FutureBeyondEdges event between 6 and 12 November at Bedok Mall. Customers who purchase the Nex 3 at the event will get a FREE DJI OSMO Mobile 3 (gimbal) worth S$189, and a Folio Case worth S$29.90.
vivo will also be selling exclusive merchandise worth S$19.90 at the event. Five lucky visitors will get to walk away with a Nex 3 and other exclusive vivo models.
These winners will be announced on 9 November between 1 and 3 pm. So do be there for it!
