Lenovo’s AI Tech Delivered FIFA World Cup 2026 Coverage

Lenovo has wrapped up its technology deployment at the FIFA World Cup 2026™, delivering AI-powered systems across 104 matches in 16 cities spanning three host countries with 99.99 per cent uptime.

Lenovo‘s infrastructure supported everything from team preparation and officiating to stadium operations and fan engagement across more than 600 tournament sites, according to the company’s tournament wrap-up statement.

AI-Powered Fan and Officiating Tools

All 48 competing teams used the FIFA AI Pro platform to query match footage and more than 2,000 performance metrics in natural language, part of Lenovo’s push to make tournament data more accessible to coaching staff.

  • The Referee View system used AI-powered stabilisation to cut camera jitter by 60 per cent, generating more than 20 billion impressions and leaving 84 per cent of surveyed fans feeling closer to the pitch.
  • Lenovo built 1,248 individualised 3D digital player avatars to support Semi-Automated Offside technology, aimed at improving transparency for fans following contentious calls.

Running the Back End

Behind the visible technology, more than 350 engineers managed over 25,000 devices across the tournament’s 600-plus venues, handling stadium operations, logistics and near real-time IPTV feeds throughout the competition.

Lenovo said the integration offers a model for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil, where similar systems are expected to be deployed.
