M-DAQ Enters Vietnam With PayME Integration Deal

M-DAQ Global has signed definitive agreements for a strategic integration with METech, the majority shareholder of Vietnamese payments provider PayME, giving the Singapore-headquartered fintech group its first regulated payments infrastructure in Vietnam.

The deal marks a further step in M-DAQ Global‘s push to build a unified ASEAN Payments Hub spanning integrated collection, foreign exchange conversion and payout capabilities across the region. With METech now part of the group, M-DAQ holds five regulated licenses across four ASEAN markets, building on earlier expansions through EasyPay in Malaysia and Wallex in Indonesia.

Direct access to Vietnamese Dong rails

The integration gives M-DAQ its own regulated infrastructure to process local collections and payments directly in Vietnamese Dong, reducing reliance on third-party partners for one of the region’s key cross-border corridors. The company said this enables faster, lower-friction flows for businesses operating in and out of Vietnam, while METech contributes onshore technical and regulatory expertise along with established banking relationships.

“Vietnam is one of ASEAN’s most dynamic growth markets and a key pillar for the region’s digital transformation. We are proud to mark M-DAQ’s first direct presence in the country through this integration, advancing our ASEAN-focused strategy,” said Tan Choon Seng, Group CEO of M-DAQ Global.

Vietnam’s digital economy accelerates

The move lands as Vietnam’s digital economy is projected to reach USD 72.1 billion in 2025, accounting for more than 14 percent of national GDP, with the government targeting 30 percent by 2030, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam. Domestic e-commerce is expected to hit USD 31 billion in 2025, placing Vietnam among the top three digital economies in ASEAN, while cross-border B2C e-commerce is forecast to grow to USD 13.39 billion by 2031.

Le Hoang Gia, founder of METech, said the company has built a decade of expertise serving Vietnam’s business community and now aims to extend that reach beyond the country’s borders. “Together, we are setting a new standard for how cross-border payments can be executed with speed, reliability and transparency,” he said.

Building out regional infrastructure

M-DAQ said the combination of METech’s local market knowledge with its own regional infrastructure strengthens the platform for cross-border payment flows both within ASEAN and between the region and the rest of the world, as it continues consolidating regulated payment rails across Southeast Asia’s key trade corridors.
