NCS Chief Executive Officer Sam Liew has been named the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) Tech Leader of the Year for 2026, recognising his leadership in AI-led transformation and efforts to build a more inclusive digital workforce in Singapore.
The award, presented at the SCS Gala Dinner on 8 May, honours leaders who have contributed significantly beyond their immediate business interests. The Singapore Computer Society cited Liew’s advocacy for skills-first hiring and his work nurturing the next generation of technology professionals as key factors in the recognition.
AI Transformation and Talent Development
As CEO of NCS, Liew has led the company’s strategic shift towards AI-led services delivery, both internally and for its enterprise and government clients. He has championed programmes that expand pathways into the technology sector for graduates of Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and polytechnics, including the Infocomm Media Development Authority TeSA for ITE and Polytechnics (IMDA TIP) Alliance and TIP Alliance+.
Liew also holds board positions at several Singapore educational institutions, including ITE, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and Singapore Management University (SMU), through which he contributes to shaping the pipeline of future technology talent.
“I’m honoured to receive this recognition from the Singapore Computer Society. Technology must create opportunity for everyone, and I’m committed to strengthening Singapore’s tech leadership by growing skills and talent, supporting an inclusive digital future, and helping organisations drive AI-led transformation.”
