Podium, a leading cloud-based platform transforming industrialized construction and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), has raised S$20.4 million in its Series A-1 funding round. The round was led by Autodesk, a global design and manufacturing software powerhouse, reflecting shared confidence in Podium’s ability to advance digital transformation in the built environment.
Podium’s innovative SaaS platform automates workflows to optimize designs based on cost, time, buildability, and sustainability. Leveraging API integrations and DfMA-ready “kits of parts” defined by suppliers, Podium delivers real-time feedback to align project outcomes with design intent.
As sustainable building demand is projected to reach S$748 billion in Asia by 2028, alongside a construction market of S$38 billion, Podium addresses critical challenges such as low productivity, high waste, and the need for more efficient and sustainable building practices.
Autodesk’s investment highlights its alignment with Podium in supporting architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) professionals through advanced building information modeling (BIM) solutions.
Strategic Investments and Partnerships
The round also saw participation from Schindler, a global leader in elevators and escalators. Schindler’s collaboration with Podium exemplifies the platform’s impact: a Podium model for a multi-storey residential tower automatically incorporates lift specifications based on performance requirements. This integration streamlines the design process, reducing waste and inefficiencies while promoting sustainable practices.
Podium is also working with JTC Corporation to refine design processes, addressing risks such as conflicting code requirements and inadequate discipline coordination in large projects.
Momentum for Expansion
Established by Australian property and investment group Lendlease, Podium is gaining international traction, with Lendlease remaining a key investor. The funding will accelerate Podium’s growth in key markets such as Singapore and Australia, where discussions with developers, consultants, and government agencies are well advanced.
