Singapore, 9 September – Renowned French sporting goods retailer, Decathlon, will be unveiling their latest store on 12 September. Located at The Centrepoint by Frasers Property Singapore, the new 2-storey store spans a total of 3,200 square metres. It will feature a wide variety of sporting goods, modern technological systems and Virtual Reality test zones amongst other firsts for the brand.
Decathlon Orchard will be offering more than 5,000 products across 60 sports developed and manufactured internally by Decathlon Group. The store will house a wide range of sporting apparel and equipment for indoor and outdoor activities.
Try It Out: Virtual Reality (VR) Test Zones

For the first time ever, those who want to dabble in the experience of camping can do so right in the store itself! With Virtual Reality technology, shoppers can simulate an immersive camping experience in Decathlon’s variety of tent options in day or night settings.
Some of the tents sold will include one of Decathlon’s innovation products, the Arpenaz Fresh & Black, which guarantees 99% darkness inside the tent for privacy and a good night’s rest. It will also feature Decathlon’s award-winning 2 Seconds tent, which gives the same quick and fuss-free experience for setting up and folding the tent.
A Modern and Eco-friendly Decathlon
Decathlon Orchard will also feature various new technologies. For one, the store will feature a 3D morphological machine situated at the running aisle — a first for any Decathlon store in Singapore! Users can get accurate, personalised 3D measures of their foot size and gait, as well as recommendations for shoes depending on which sport they are interested in!
The sporting brand also recently launched its new Decathlon App, which features a Scan & Pay function that enables users to scan product tags/QR codes to retrieve in-depth product information and reviews. The best part? Shoppers also get to skip the queue through checking out and paying in-app! This will be especially useful for the first storey of Decathlon Orchard, where users can only check out via the app.

Besides the Scan & Pay function, shoppers can also make purchases on-the-go and collect their products in just 2 hours at any one of Decathlon’s 7 Click & Collect stores islandwide. Alternatively, one can also get products delivered to their homes via delivery options available on the app.
If you manage to come across robots ambling along the aisles, do not be alarmed — the store incorporates the use of service robots from PAL Robotics on each level to ensure stock accuracy and automate the inventory process. Decathlon is the first and only company in Singapore so far to employ this time-saving technology, allowing store teammates to focus on addressing shoppers’ needs instead!
Decathlon Orchard will also be the first outlet in Singapore to be equipped with 100% digital balisage. Thanks to this transformation, there will be no paper used throughout the two-storey store to display product information. This reduction in paper usage greatly furthers Decathlon’s commitment to sustainability, and facilitates smooth updating of product price and information. Balisages refresh themselves everyday through WiFi touch points, or can be manually updated with a quick scan of a Sony PDA device.
Orchard, Sport Till You Drop!
Decathlon Orchard will open its doors at 10am on 12 September, and the first 100 store visitors will receive a free goodie bag! There will also be a Spin and Win contest for users who spend $80 and above in a single transaction via the Decathlon App.
Upon entry and exit of our store, customers will undergo mandatory SafeEntry and temperature checks, and high touch points will also be regularly sanitised and monitored. With so many exciting new features to check out at Decathlon Orchard, make sure to mark your calendars for the weekend of 12 and 13 September to venture on this exciting sporting journey with your favourite sports brand!
