Studio SB 36 Black with Control

There’s a new soundbar in town, and it’s by Jamo. The high-tech collaborative, owned by Klipsch Group Inc., had recently unveiled its first-ever sound bar in Singapore, Studio SB 36.

Priced at only S$399, the Studio SB 36 did not enter into our local market unprepared. In fact, it could be an exciting alternative to the current market leaders such as LG, Samsung, and Sonos.

Director of Product Development, Integrated Systems for Klipsch Group, Inc. Andrew LaRouche said:

“The Jamo Studio soundbars are a decorative alternative to the standard black plastic sound bars on the market They are uniquely tailored to reflect the sophisticated fine lines and textured finishes in traditional and modern homes.”

Easy to set up

Studio SB 36 Accessories

The Studio SB 36 is designed for easy setup.  It does not come with lots of wires and connection point. Users only have to plug in the optical cable to enjoy the enhanced audio experience.

No additional subwoofer

Soundbars usually come with an additional subwoofer to provide the bass (oomph) for a theatre-like experience when watching movies. It also takes up space.

Not for the Studio SB 36. According to Jamo, the soundbar has an integrated 2.5″ oval woofers that can produce powerful bass for their size.

All around you

It’s fascinating to know how much Jamo had packed into the Studio SB 36 because it also comes with a virtual surround mode. That means it can provide engulfing surround sound effect without help from more speakers and wires.

Bluetooth-enabled

Like other soundbars, the Studio SB 36 comes with Bluetooth wireless technology that can pair with smartphones, tablets and computers, extending the use of the soundbar.

True 2-way bi-amplified sound

To make this explanation more palatable, the bi-amplified sound means users get enhanced audio quality when listening to vocals and dynamic soundtracks. For the audiophile, the Studio SB 36 has a dual 3/4″ horn loaded soft dome tweeters and a dual 2.5″ oval woofers. It also includes DSP controlled crossover via separate amplifier channels for tweeter and woofer.

We are looking forward to getting our hands on a review set to test it out on video for the sound quality. In the meantime, if you wish to see the real deal for yourself, you can visit Audio House, Courts, Harvey Norman, Hwee Seng online store or Mustafa to hear for yourself.
