Meituan-Dianping has announced their partnership with Singapore start-up, Wipay to connect local merchants to more than 600 million users on the Meituan-Dianping platform.

The partnership will not just enable Singapore merchants to list and market their services on Meituan-Dianping app for the Chinese tourists travelling to the sunny island, with Wipay, the tourists can easily transact payment for services using Chinese payment solutions like WeChat Pay, Alipay and Union Pay.

Chief Technology Officer of Wipay, Daniel Tang said:

“We are excited to be appointed as the official partner of Meituan-Dianping in Singapore. We look forward to matching more local merchants with and providing lifestyle options for Chinese tourists to enhance their experiences in Singapore, from shopping to dining.”

About 2.86 million Chinese tourists visited Singapore last year, propelling the tiny red dot to become the second largest visitor market, a rank below Indonesia and a rank above Malaysia.
