Hitachi Vantara has reported strong revenue growth across Asia Pacific for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, driven by enterprise demand for its Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) portfolio as organisations modernise infrastructure to support AI workloads.
Total APAC revenue rose 32% year-on-year for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, while product revenue across Hitachi Vantara and third-party offerings grew 52%. Storage revenue in the region climbed 61%, and overall APAC block portfolio revenue increased 58%, with high-end storage revenue up 48% and midrange storage revenue up 65%.
ASEAN and Singapore growth among regional gains
Growth was strongest in Korea, up 185% year-on-year, and China mainland, up 112%, while Australia and New Zealand rose 30% and ASEAN, including Singapore, grew 22%. The company said the results reflect growing enterprise investment in modern data infrastructure across APAC as organisations look to support AI initiatives, strengthen cyber resilience and reduce operational complexity.
“The momentum we’re seeing across Asia Pacific reflects a common challenge facing organisations today: how to modernise critical infrastructure while preparing for an AI-driven future,” said Wendy Koh, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific, Hitachi Vantara.
Storage demand tracks broader AI infrastructure spending
The results come as worldwide external OEM enterprise storage systems revenue increased 22.7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, according to IDC, driven by AI infrastructure demand and deferred refresh spending. Hitachi Vantara also cited separate global research finding that 55% of IT leaders say complexity makes breach detection harder, while 57% say data loss would be catastrophic to their business.
The VSP One portfolio brings block, file and object data together within a unified platform, aiming to help organisations reduce complexity and strengthen resilience across on-premises and cloud environments. Hitachi Vantara said the platform supports up to 50 million IOPS, eight nines of availability and a 4:1 data reduction guarantee.
