GetGo Cuts Bug Investigation Time 50% With Datadog

Singapore’s largest carsharing service, GetGo, has achieved full-stack observability and faster incident resolution after deploying Datadog‘s platform, cutting bug investigation time by up to 60 per cent as it scales towards international expansion.

GetGo, which provides round-the-clock access to more than 3,000 vehicles across 1,700 locations through its mobile app, runs on a fully cloud-native, event-driven microservices architecture on AWS. As the platform scaled and its distributed environment grew more complex, the company needed comprehensive, real-time observability to protect user trust and sustain growth.

Fragmented monitoring gave way to a single pane of glass

Before adopting Datadog, GetGo’s monitoring tools were fragmented, forcing engineering teams to manually correlate issues across services and slowing root cause analysis. A lack of real-time visibility into mobile user sessions also meant longer diagnosis times for customer-facing issues.

“As a company built on delivering seamless, on-demand mobility, blind spots have a direct impact on user trust and retention,” said Kirivarnan Kumarasamy, Director of Engineering at GetGo. “Datadog brought our entire platform into view and enabled our teams to move from reactive troubleshooting to proactive, confident engineering.”

GetGo consolidated Datadog’s Application Performance Monitoring, Real User Monitoring, Infrastructure Monitoring, Dashboards, Log Management, Sensitive Data Scanner and Software Composition Analysis into a single platform, reducing context switching and giving teams visibility into mobile application behaviour for the first time.

Faster detection, fewer outages

GetGo said the platform cut bug investigation time — previously taking several hours — by 50 to 60 per cent, freeing engineers to focus on feature development. Mean time to detection and resolution also fell by an average of 30 to 40 per cent, reducing downtime and outages.

Looking ahead, GetGo is exploring Datadog’s AI and agentic capabilities, including Bits AI SRE and Cloud SIEM, to boost engineering productivity and support its expansion beyond Singapore.

Adrian Towsey, Vice-President of Commercial Sales for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Datadog, said GetGo’s ability to scale confidently and expand into new markets rests on having complete, unified visibility into every layer of its technology stack, giving its teams more time to focus on building and innovation.
