Singapore Polytechnic (SP) will support companies in adopting Industrial AI more safely and responsibly as the founding training partner for AutomationSG’s Trusted Industrial AI-Ready (TIA-Ready) Framework, Singapore’s first industry-owned Industrial AI readiness framework.

The framework, benchmarked against ISO/IEC 42001, gives companies a practical pathway to assess AI risks, put governance in place and build trusted capabilities for AI used in industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing and operational technology. It was announced at the third annual Automation SolutionGO! x Regional Industry Networking Conference (RINC) 2026, co-organised by SP and AutomationSG at the SP Convention Centre, with Guest-of-Honour Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development, witnessing the launch.

“As AI becomes embedded in industrial and operational environments, companies need both the right technology and the workforce capabilities to use it responsibly. As the founding training partner of the TIA-Ready Framework, SP will help translate industry collaboration into practical workforce capability,” said Soh Wai Wah, Principal and CEO of Singapore Polytechnic.

Saw Biing Huei, CEO of AutomationSG, said the framework lets companies start with one bounded use case, build evidence and manage risk before progressively preparing for ISO/IEC 42001 certification. SP piloted the framework with two SME partners, JM Vistec and CADVision Systems, to test its practical application.

Nine new partnerships and a training pipeline

SP also announced a new Industrial AI and Governance Literacy programme launching in October 2026, alongside nine strategic partnerships spanning advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, automation, sustainability and regional growth. Partners include Dassault Systèmes, CADVision Systems, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation, GlobalFoundries, SMC Corporation, Women in Aviation Singapore Chapter, Stolz Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Advantech and GloboAI Robotics.

Through its partnership with GlobalFoundries, SP is projected to train more than 2,000 employees to support the chipmaker’s digital transformation. SP will also become the first institute of higher learning in Singapore to deploy Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Works for Startups and SOLIDWORKS SkillForce programmes, and the first to be recognised as a SOLIDWORKS Authorised Training Centre.

Regional reach and job placements

The two-day RINC 2026 conference drew delegates from eight countries, more than 10 institutes of higher learning, over 50 domain experts and 35 solution exhibitors, with dedicated breakout tracks on Malaysia’s Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and China’s emerging technology partnerships. A co-located Manufacturing and Aviation Career Fair, led by NTUC’s e2i and WAI-SG, brought together more than 30 employers and over 600 job seekers against more than 1,300 industry vacancies.
