UiPath has become the first business orchestration and automation platform to offer native, platform-wide integration for coding agents, allowing enterprises to build, test, deploy, and govern automations through natural language conversations with agents including Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.
The new capability, called UiPath for Coding Agents, addresses a persistent gap in enterprise AI adoption: coding agents have largely operated in isolation, disconnected from security policies, CI/CD pipelines, and governance controls. Every handoff between an agent and enterprise systems has required manual intervention, limiting the productivity gains that organisations hoped to realise.
Governance Built Into the Platform
UiPath’s approach embeds orchestration, audit trails, role-based access controls, and policy enforcement directly into the platform. These governance controls apply consistently regardless of which coding agent is used or which developer last touched the code — including automations generated by AI rather than human developers.
The platform supports a model-agnostic architecture. Enterprises can run Claude Code in one department and OpenAI Codex in another, and adopt whichever agent emerges next without being locked into a single vendor. Additional coding agent integrations are planned across 2026.
From Developers to Business Analysts
Beyond raising the ceiling for experienced developers — for whom testing, debugging, and deployment become more accessible — UiPath for Coding Agents lowers the floor for non-technical users. Business analysts, process owners, and domain experts can describe a desired outcome in plain language, direct a coding agent to produce it, and carry it through to production without requiring specialised scripting skills.
“We are first to market with a platform that treats AI-generated automations as first-class citizens, with the same governance, reliability, and scale that enterprises demand. Now, anyone can describe what they want, direct a coding agent to produce it, and carry through every stage to production.”
— Daniel Dines, CEO and Founder, UiPath
UiPath for Coding Agents is available now to enterprise customers, with initial support for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.
