Plaud Inc. has launched Plaud Desktop, extending its AI-powered conversation intelligence to professionals across the Asia-Pacific region as hybrid and remote work become standard.
Plaud Desktop allows users to capture and analyse online meetings without deploying intrusive meeting bots. The tool integrates with the Plaud App and Plaud Web, enabling professionals to consolidate in-person conversations, phone calls and online meetings into a single workflow.
Bot-free AI meeting capture for hybrid work
Designed for distributed teams, Plaud Desktop detects when an online meeting starts by analysing changes in system audio or microphone activity. Users retain full control over recording, in line with Plaud’s consent-first approach, which prevents automatic recordings unless explicitly enabled.
The platform supports smart meeting detection across major conferencing services, including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Slack.
Unlike bot-based tools, Plaud Desktop captures meetings natively on the user’s device, reducing friction in workplaces where external recording bots may be restricted for compliance or security reasons.
Unified conversation intelligence across scenarios
Plaud said the desktop launch makes it the only AI note-taking solution designed to span all conversation scenarios — in-person discussions, phone calls and online meetings — within a single system.
In addition to audio capture, Plaud Desktop supports multimodal inputs such as text notes, highlights and screenshots, preserving context beyond transcripts alone. All data syncs across Plaud’s mobile and web platforms, allowing professionals to review and extract insights regardless of where meetings take place.
The company positioned the product as particularly relevant for privacy-conscious organisations in Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region, where consent and data control are key considerations.
“What sets Plaud apart is our design to work seamlessly across all scenarios — in person, over the phone, or on screen. That’s how intelligence naturally flows,” said Nathan Xu, co-founder and chief executive of Plaud.
“Our mission is to amplify human intelligence, and Plaud Desktop is a key step in delivering that promise for professionals globally, including across Asia-Pacific,” he added.
Growing demand for AI meeting notes
The launch comes as demand for AI-powered meeting notes accelerates alongside hybrid work adoption. Many organisations are seeking alternatives to meeting bots that may disrupt workflows or raise privacy concerns.
Plaud said its platform is now used by more than 1.5 million users worldwide. The company did not disclose pricing or enterprise availability details for Plaud Desktop.
Jeff Allen, a senior economic specialist and Plaud user, said the tool helps him remain engaged during discussions. “Plaud Desktop lets me stay fully present in meetings while it handles the notes, so I can focus on the conversation itself,” he said.
Plaud said it will continue expanding its conversation intelligence features across desktop, mobile and web, with further updates aimed at supporting professionals working across multiple meeting formats.
