M1 Refreshes Bugis Junction Outlet With New Digital Features

M1, Continental and JTC advance Singapore’s Smart Nation ambition through 5G standalone network and robotics

M1 has opened its refreshed Bugis Junction outlet after relocating to a new space in the mall’s main building, introducing digital upgrades aimed at improving the customer experience.

The move marks the first major refresh of the outlet since it debuted in 1997, the same year M1 launched as a brand in Singapore. The store continues to operate with its usual business hours.

Digital-led design to enhance customer experience

The revamped Bugis Junction outlet features a redesigned interior and a range of digital enhancements intended to make browsing devices, managing services and accessing promotions more intuitive for customers.

A curved digital LED screen at the entrance highlights key offers and company updates, while new central display assets allow visitors to explore popular smartphones and their features more interactively.

One of the outlet’s standout additions is a Data Transfer Wall to support a smoother and more secure trade-in process. Customers can place their devices in a digital locker while data transfer completes and return to collect them without rejoining the queue. Each locker uses a dual-key system for added security.

“Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do. This refreshed Bugis Junction outlet is more than a retail space — it’s a touchpoint where we can connect with our customers in meaningful ways. We will continue to invest in innovative solutions and environments that make every interaction seamless and rewarding,” said Mustafa Kapasi, Chief Operating Officer of M1.

Opening promotions for mobile and broadband customers

To mark the launch of the refreshed M1 Bugis Junction store, the telco is offering several opening-day promotions. Customers who sign up for a new mobile line on any plan will receive Mr Coconut vouchers, while those who recontract with a device will receive Toast Box vouchers.

New broadband customers on plans of 6Gbps and above will also receive free gifts as part of the opening campaign.

Broader retail upgrades planned

The Bugis Junction refresh is part of a wider retail modernisation effort across its physical network. The telco plans to introduce similar design and digital enhancements to its six other outlets in Singapore.

The upgraded retail concept comes as Singapore operators focus increasingly on in-store customer experience, complementing digital self-service tools with more interactive physical spaces. Secure trade-in processes, digital displays and curated handset showcases have become key touchpoints as telcos seek to integrate online and offline journeys.

M1 has not yet disclosed the rollout schedule for upgrades at its remaining stores, but said more details will be shared as plans are finalised. The Bugis Junction outlet is now open to the public at #03-09C.
