Subaru Enters New Territory with Unveiling of 2026 Uncharted EV Compact Crossover

Subaru of America has taken a bold leap into the future of mobility, unveiling its first-ever all-electric compact crossover — the 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV.

Scheduled to arrive in showrooms across the United States in early 2026, the Uncharted signals a new chapter for Subaru’s electric vehicle (EV) ambitions, combining the brand’s signature all-weather prowess with modern performance and technology.

Available in three trims — Premium FWD, Sport, and GT — the Uncharted delivers an electric driving experience with up to 338 horsepower and a 0–60 mph sprint in under five seconds. A manufacturer-estimated range of over 300 miles is on offer in the entry-level Premium model, while AWD variants are expected to achieve up to 290 miles per charge.

Performance Meets Subaru’s All-Weather DNA

Positioned as a more compact sibling to the Subaru Solterra, the Uncharted is nearly seven inches shorter yet offers a spacious cargo area with over 25 cubic feet of space behind the second row. Its design incorporates Subaru’s hallmark Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive on Sport and GT trims and a dynamic suspension system tailored for responsiveness on both urban streets and off-road trails.

The electric SUV is powered by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery and supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, enabling a 10–80% top-up in approximately 30 minutes — even in colder climates, thanks to an onboard battery preconditioning system.

Subaru has also engineered the Uncharted for enhanced handling on loose surfaces, thanks to high-strength steel construction, a low centre of gravity from the underfloor battery pack, and dual-motor all-wheel drive capability.

Tech-Forward Cabin with Everyday Usability

Inside, the 2026 Uncharted features a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment display compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual wireless phone chargers are standard, and rear passengers benefit from USB-C ports and heated outboard seats in the top-tier GT trim.

Charging convenience is bolstered with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port that provides access to more than 15,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across the US.

Safety is a priority with Subaru’s latest EyeSight® driver-assist technologies, which include Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. Top-spec models further benefit from Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and a panoramic view monitor.

Distinct Styling Inside and Out

Visually, the Uncharted carries Subaru’s new design language — including a sleek lighting signature, black badging, and a silver-painted lower rear fascia. GT variants will feature a two-tone roof and 20-inch wheels for a sportier stance.

Inside, the Uncharted GT and Sport trims offer Subaru’s water-repellent StarTex® upholstery, ambient lighting, and exclusive orange interior accents. A panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats, and Harman Kardon® audio are among the premium features available.

Subaru promises further pricing and specification details closer to the Uncharted’s on-sale date in early 2026.
