Amid a wave of job displacement in government sectors worldwide, enterprise automation giant UiPath is stepping in with a new initiative to future-proof public sector careers. The company has launched Upskill to Agentic Automation – a free, self-paced training and certification programme designed to equip civil servants with AI and automation skills relevant to today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Offered through UiPath Academy and the UiPath Community platform, the training targets public sector professionals impacted by changing workforce demands and the rise of agentic automation – systems capable of acting independently and making intelligent decisions.
“UiPath is committed to investing in the future workforce,” said Chris Radich, Public Sector Chief Technology Officer at UiPath. “This programme furthers UiPath’s commitment to upskilling and empowering professionals with the in-demand agentic automation skills to succeed in newly emerging careers.”
The curriculum includes real-world automation scenarios, live virtual sessions, mentorship from industry practitioners, and opportunities to shadow experienced professionals. Upon completion, participants earn digital credentials, with the option to pursue free or discounted certifications.
The move comes as tens of thousands of public sector roles globally are being redefined or phased out due to rapid digitisation. For many, retraining in emerging technologies has become more than a career upgrade – it’s a necessity.
UiPath has partnered with organisations including Boundaryless, Greenlight Consulting, and The Next Innings to deliver the programme, ensuring comprehensive support for participants.
“At Boundaryless, our mission is to improve lives through automation – especially by empowering those who dedicate their careers to serving others,” said Erik Gillet, Founder and CEO of Boundaryless Group. “This initiative aligns with our belief that agentic tools make work more meaningful and open new career paths.”
Greenlight Consulting’s Director of Innovation, Melanie Lam, added: “AI augmentation and agentic workflow automation are reshaping how we work. This programme is about opening doors for talented individuals to step into the future of work.”
