Google has introduced a new self-paced online course, “Google Prompting Essentials,” aimed at helping individuals across industries and skill levels learn how to effectively prompt generative AI (gen AI) tools. The course, taught by AI experts at Google, is now available on Coursera, with free access for Google Career Certificates scholarship holders in Singapore.

Upskilling in the AI Age

With AI transforming workplaces globally, the ability to communicate effectively with AI models is becoming a crucial skill. Google’s Prompting Essentials course equips learners with techniques to generate valuable AI-driven results while promoting responsible AI use. Participants will be trained to evaluate AI outputs for bias and errors – an essential skill in an era of widespread AI adoption.

The course is designed to enhance efficiency by teaching learners how to create a reusable library of prompts, saving time in future AI interactions. It also covers practical applications such as building tables and trackers, brainstorming product ideas, and analysing customer surveys.

Given the increasing focus on AI and skills transformation in Singapore, particularly in the lead-up to Budget 2025, Google’s initiative aligns with national efforts to equip workers with relevant digital skills.
