Agora, Inc., a leader in real-time engagement APIs, has announced the launch of its Conversational AI SDK, integrated with OpenAI’s Realtime API. This integration aims to provide developers with the tools to embed natural, voice-driven AI interactions into their applications, offering a more seamless and interactive experience for users across various industries.
Agora’s Conversational AI SDK taps into the company’s intelligent routing and ultra-low latency network, which currently supports over 60 billion minutes of real-time interactions each month in more than 200 countries. The SDK enhances voice interaction capabilities by utilizing features such as AI echo cancellation and background noise suppression, ensuring accurate voice processing in any environment.
This SDK allows developers to create a broad range of AI-driven voice agents, from customer support bots to educational tools and IoT integrations. The possibilities are extensive, ranging from 24/7 customer service to language learning applications that allow users to practice speaking in real time.

Tony Zhao, CEO and Co-Founder of Agora, emphasized the transformational potential of the new tool, stating, “Real-time conversational AI is the next step in helping consumers and organizations across the world realize the benefits of this seismic and revolutionary technology.” He added that the collaboration with OpenAI provides developers with the ability to increase app interactivity by implementing natural voice interactions, powered by Agora’s real-time audio streaming.
Expanding AI Use Cases Globally
Agora customers are already seeing the potential. Samuel Lim, CEO & Founder of Grepp, highlighted the SDK’s role in improving personalized learning experiences on their platform. “By integrating lifelike, interactive AI learning assistants into our platform, we can enhance personalized skill assessments, improve the learning experience for developers, and optimize online testing,” he said.
Similarly, Yun Zhang, CEO & Co-founder of Wyze, noted how Agora’s ultra-low latency network will be pivotal in integrating AI voice interactions into IoT products. “Agora’s network is a game changer, with the ultra-low latency response time necessary for truly natural voice interaction with AI-powered smart devices,” Zhang remarked.
Unleashing New AI Capabilities
The launch is set to fuel a wave of innovation in AI-driven applications, with Agora’s SDK providing the necessary infrastructure for developers to build sophisticated, real-time AI solutions. As Zhao concluded, the partnership with OpenAI “will allow developers to imagine and build apps that would have been inconceivable only a few years ago.”
From wellness coaching to customer support and education, Agora’s Conversational AI SDK represents a significant leap forward in how consumers and businesses can leverage AI to enhance everyday interactions.
