Association Blockchain Asia Joins Blockchain for Good Alliance, Driving Social Impact with Web3 Key Fund

Association Blockchain Asia (ABA) has officially joined the Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) as a member of its steering committee, signaling a focused push towards supporting blockchain projects that deliver meaningful social impact. As part of the BGA’s efforts, the Web3 Key Fund, which has raised $5 million to date, including $2.5 million from Bybit, aims to bolster projects that address key societal challenges.

Since ABA became part of BGA’s steering committee in June 2024, the organization, along with its sponsor Trigger Capital, has been instrumental in advising and allocating funds for the BGA Web3 Key Fund. This fund is integral to BGA’s incubator program, which launched in April 2024 to back projects with strong ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) elements.

The incubator program is focused on blockchain initiatives that promote financial inclusion, reduce inequality through education, enhance health and security, and advance environmental sustainability. Up to 10 projects have been curated from over 30 applicants to participate in the incubation process, receiving $200,000 in the first year.

Pioneering Blockchain Solutions for a Better Future

“We are thrilled to join the Blockchain for Good Alliance and contribute to its mission of using blockchain technology to create meaningful social impact. At ABA, we believe in the transformative power of blockchain to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time,” said Dr. Anthony Koh, President of Association Blockchain Asia.

Projects like Fizen, EthicHub, and My Lovely Planet are already part of the program, bridging businesses with cryptocurrency, connecting small farmers with investors to promote sustainable farming, and planting over 360,000 trees. The success of these projects underscores the BGA incubator program’s growing influence in the region.

Expanding Reach and Impact

With ABA’s expertise and regional connections, the partnership with BGA has brought increased clarity and momentum to the program. “ABA has been a great partner, they have generously shared their industry expertise and connections in the regional Web3 space,” said Daniel Zou, Incubation Lead for BGA.

As they look forward, ABA and BGA plan to organize events across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, further expanding their initiatives and reinforcing their mission to make blockchain technology a force for good.
