AutoStore™, a leading warehouse technology company, has announced the opening of a new assembly factory in Rayong Province, Thailand. This strategic move is part of the company’s global expansion efforts, positioning its cutting-edge robotics production closer to key markets in Australia, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
AutoStore, which boasts over 1,450 systems across 54 countries, is the most widely adopted automated fulfilment system globally. The new robot factory in Thailand will enable the company to expedite the deployment of its automated storage and retrieval systems across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Currently, AutoStore has over 140 systems and 5,300 robots operational in APAC, serving top brands like Puma, Gucci, and Best Buy.
“Since 2012, our robots have been manufactured and shipped exclusively from Poland,” said Mats Hovland Vikse, CEO of AutoStore. “With increased demand for our automated fulfillment system in North America and worldwide, it became imperative to open a second robot factory. The workforce availability, proximity to harbors and airports, favorable labor costs, and government incentives for automation companies made Thailand an ideal location for our new facility.”

Israel Losada Salvador, COO of AutoStore, added, “In the last 24 months, we have tripled our existing capacity and structured ourselves to potentially grow tenfold in another 24 months if needed. With our expansion into Thailand, we have not only increased capacity but also established a more diversified supplier base, reducing our lead times from 34 weeks to 20 weeks.”
AutoStore’s technology employs a cube-based modular storage system using advanced robots, replacing traditional shelf-based storage and manual retrieval. This system accelerates order fulfillment, maximizes warehouse space, and enhances operational efficiency.
The new factory in Thailand is expected to create approximately 80 direct employment opportunities in its first year, with plans to increase to 200-300 jobs by 2026. Over the next 18 months, AutoStore aims to produce 15,000 robots, doubling its current capacity to meet growing customer demand.
