Sony Thermo Technology Inc. has launched the REON POCKET 5, its latest wearable device designed for personal cooling and warming, marking its debut in Singapore. This fifth-generation model introduces enhanced features and is now available in limited markets worldwide, including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Hong Kong.

The REON POCKET 5, worn at the back of the neck, directly adjusts the body’s surface temperature, offering both cooling and warming functionalities. The launch in Singapore follows the overwhelming success of its predecessor, the REON POCKET 4, which sold out rapidly in Japan and Hong Kong shortly after release.

The device is designed to enhance comfort in diverse environments—from homes and crowded public transport to outdoor settings for content creators. It proves particularly useful in both chilly supermarket aisles and warm office environments, promising an optimal shopping and working experience by adjusting the body temperature to suit different indoor conditions.

Advanced Features for Improved Performance

The REON POCKET 5 boasts significant technological advancements, including an enlarged thermo-module and a newly structured heat dissipation fan, which together improve cooling efficiency and airflow by up to 1.5 times compared to earlier models. The device now operates quieter and features 5 COOL Levels, allowing it to run for approximately 7.5 hours on a mid-level setting.

Moreover, the introduction of the “SMART COOL ⇔ WARM MODE” leverages intuitive technology to automatically switch between cooling and warming based on ambient temperature, ensuring continuous comfort. Enhanced by the REON POCKET TAG with advanced software, the device can adapt to changes in sunlight exposure 33% faster than previous versions, supporting up to 10 hours of use in this smart mode.

Style and Additional Accessories

Addressing both functional and aesthetic needs, the REON POCKET 5 includes two types of air vent covers suitable for business and casual wear. Additionally, optional accessories such as the Neckband S (Cream) and additional white Neckbands and REON POCKET TAGs are available for purchase, catering to a wider range of users including women and children.
