In a move to give users more control over their chats, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to edit their sent messages.

Whether it’s correcting a simple misspelling or adding extra context to a message, this new feature provides WhatsApp users with the ability to make changes to their messages up to fifteen minutes after sending. To edit a message, users simply need to long-press on the sent message and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu.

To ensure transparency, edited messages will display ‘edited’ alongside them. WhatsApp has also confirmed that all messages and edits will continue to be protected by end-to-end encryption.

The new feature has already started rolling out to WhatsApp users globally and is expected to be available to everyone in the coming weeks. This update is sure to be welcomed by WhatsApp users who have long desired more control over their messaging experience.
