Dropbox Releases New Video Collaboration Tool ‘Replay’ to Alleviate Feedback Hassles and Save Time

Dropbox, the leading cloud storage and collaboration platform, has announced the launch of a new feature called Dropbox Replay to help freelancers and small teams manage video feedback and approvals with ease. With video content becoming an integral part of our daily lives, Dropbox Replay is set to simplify the feedback process, making it faster and more efficient for creative teams dispersed across different time zones.

According to research, the average number of online video hours watched grew from 10.5 hours per week in 2018 to 19 in 2022, indicating the increasing demand for video content. However, many professionals struggle to gather feedback asynchronously on their video projects, which can be a time-consuming task. To alleviate this pain point, Dropbox Replay offers a patented live review feature that enables collaborators to watch a video simultaneously and see markups and comments in real-time, making the feedback process more streamlined.

During the Beta stage, customers reported that Replay helped them work more efficiently and deliver media projects faster. Seven out of ten Replay users who achieved a faster workflow said they reduced video project time by one day a week or more. Rachel Jedwood, Production Officer at National Rugby League, shared her experience of using Replay, stating, “When you get down to the evil deadlines that rule our lives, it’s nice to get everyone together and share our feedback in one place.”

In addition to the live review feature, Replay also enables users to comment on a specific frame or time range and organize all versions of their assets in one place. It centralizes creative reviews while keeping teams and clients aligned throughout the process. Dropbox Replay integrates with popular video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve, LumaFusion, WeVideo, and Apple Final Cut Pro (coming soon) to seamlessly provide and action on feedback.

Dropbox also offers new Replay features such as pinned comments and filtered comments for all Dropbox plans. Those on Plus, Pro, Standard, and Advanced plans looking for a more premium experience can access the full suite of Replay features for $10 per month (for annual subscribers) or $12 per month (for monthly subscribers). Premium features include video transcriptions and captions, setting deadlines for collaborators to give feedback, and archiving a finished project to Dropbox.

Dan May, President at Blackmagic Design, expressed his excitement about the integration of Dropbox Replay with Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve, stating, “Reducing the amount of time spent switching between editing and review tools is key to delivering projects to clients sooner. That’s why we’re excited to expand access to quality collaboration tools for video creators around the world through our Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve integration with Dropbox Replay.”

As video content continues to dominate our daily lives, Dropbox Replay’s new features are set to provide creative teams with a more streamlined feedback process, enabling them to deliver projects to clients faster and more efficiently.
