TIBCO has announced the signing of an Industrial-Academic Agreement with the Woosong University Software College Project Group. Under the agreement, the partners provide students with business-oriented training programmes on data analytics.
As part of the Industrial-Academic Cooperation Programme, Woosong University and TIBCO engage students through workshops and other practice-based training to equip them with the advanced analytic skills essential for their future careers in the digital economy. Practical training workshops in data analytics and data visualization, which leverage TIBCO solutions like TIBCO Spotfire®, are introduced to various courses at the beginning of the semester. Students majoring in IT Convergence, Gaming and Multimedia, Technology Studies also benefit from this initiative, with the opportunity to learn data statistics, data processing, and analytics as part of their course modules.

This partnership is a powerful contribution towards addressing the digital skills gap in South Korea. Students also have the opportunity of internship placements at TIBCO’s partner companies, giving them first-hand experience in dealing with data. Virtual and hybrid events such as special lectures, workshops, and seminars will be organised to reinforce learning and strengthen students’ knowledge and capabilities in data analytics.

Since the university was chosen as a software-centred university in 2018 by the Ministry of Science and ICT, it has always focused on developing and cultivating talent in software and the latest technologies. This project is the centre of the software utilisation curriculum and project-based practical training, which are currently in session with affiliated colleges, including the College of Software Convergence, Endicott College of International Studies, College of Railroad Transportation, College of Health and Welfare, and College of Hotels and Culinary. The partnership with TIBCO allows Woosong University to continue providing the right skill sets for students to thrive in a digital world.
TIBCO is also developing successful relationships with other universities across Asia, including Kookmin University in Korea, Nanyang Polytechnic, and Singapore Polytechnic, equipping students with relevant skill sets to cater to the growing demand for data analysts in the region.
