TIBCO and Hanoi University Announce New Advanced Analytics Lab

TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, API management, and analytics, announced its plan to collaborate with Hanoi University (HANU) with the goal to deepen students’ data analytics capabilities and knowledge. As part of the collaboration, students will have an opportunity to receive hands-on practice with TIBCO tools through the launch of the HANU-TIBCO Advanced Analytics Lab, which will be located on the university’s campus and will feature a curriculum that allows students to train in the areas of big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

“With digital transformation and the digital economy taking centre stage in Vietnam, the need for skilled data scientists continues to grow rapidly. We’re excited to collaborate with Hanoi University to provide students with the necessary expertise to meet the market demand and support the needs of our customers, partners, and TIBCO’s Engineering Centre in Hanoi,” said Erich Gerber, senior vice president, EMEA and APJ, TIBCO. “We believe that this programme could have a ground-breaking economic impact in Vietnam as the ecosystem expands and more talent is made available to support local companies with world-class applications.”

Beginning in 2020, 210 HANU students in the information technology programme will be trained in TIBCO’s advanced analytics technology to ensure that they have the core competencies and skillsets required to meet industry needs in application and solution innovation. Additionally, the HANU TIBCO Advanced Analytics Lab will showcase how analytics are applied and where industries can leverage data in real time to enable informed decision-making for improved business results.

“Digital technology is playing a major role in Vietnam’s digital journey, but a large gap in data and technology skills prevents growth. A strong collaboration between universities and industry leaders in the data analytics space is vital to imparting that knowledge on the next generation of technology professionals,” said Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Trao, president, Hanoi University. “With the support of TIBCO, we are confident that our students will be prepared for employment in the digital workforce.”
