Qoo10 has announced its operational integration with MyInfo, a digital service that enables citizens and residents to better manage their government-verified personal data. The integration will streamline internal processes for KYC documentation and verification, boost consumer confidence in Qoo10’s individual sellers, while greatly simplifying the seller registration process.
From today onwards, new and existing individual sellers will be able to enter personal particulars via the MyInfo service. Developed by Singapore’s Government Technology Agency (GovTech), MyInfo automatically fills in a user’s personal data fields on registration forms upon SingPass authentication. This process empowers any individual in Singapore to set up an e-commerce business in just a few simple clicks while ensuring that Qoo10 obtains valid data directly from government-verified sources.
With trusted data, Qoo10 aims to give its customers greater peace of mind as they transact with individual sellers on the platform. In the event of any investigative procedures launched against the seller, the details obtained via MyInfo will also help Qoo10 to promptly and accurately assist authorities like IRAS, HSA, SPF, and more.
“As a leading online shopping platform, customer protection and merchant integrity will always be top-priority issues to us,” says Yeo Se Jin, general manager of the General Affairs division at Qoo10. “MyInfo elegantly fulfils both of these priorities, by allowing shoppers to buy from our individual sellers with greater confidence while ensuring greater accountability from these sellers.”
“We want to enable more consumers to make digital transactions safely and securely when it comes to online shopping. The integration with MyInfo will allow sellers to be authenticated with government-verified information, improving user experience and enhancing consumer confidence. We are glad to partner Qoo10, and will continue to work with more businesses as we journey towards a Smart Nation,” said Kwok Quek Sin, Senior Director, National Digital Identity, GovTech.
Now, users of QuuBe’s Q*coin blockchain wallet are also able to use MyInfo to reset wallet access, if they lose or forget their password. Users were previously required to manually submit proof of their identity before a reset could be initiated.
Corporate seller processes will not be directly affected by this integration, as Qoo10 currently collects a corporate seller’s ACRA Bizfile, along with its latest bank statements, during registration. That said, Qoo10 is working to complete a similar integration with MyInfo Business, where local corporate sellers may sign in with CorpPass credentials to automatically fill in required details for the registration process.
