Huawei announced the highly rated HUAWEI P20 a month or two ago. Last week, they rolled out another smartphone out of their factory but with a little twist. We are talking about the Porsche Design HUAWEI Mate RS. So what’s Porsche’s contribution to the Mate RS?

It’s the design.

Porsche designs one of the best looking cars in the world and the partnership is to translate their design onto a smartphone worthy of their look, and that’s the HUAWEI Mate RS.

Now, it begs the question of what’s so unique about the HUAWEI Mate RS?

Huawei surprised us in the past year with the launch of the HUAWEI Mate 10 PRO and the P20. Both smartphones are aesthetically pleasing and the technology behind it screams high-end. Not to mention, their camera with the Leica lens takes incredi-amazing photos. So the Mate RS is expected to have a little of everything good about its brothers and more, with a beautiful body, which Huawei did not disappoint.

The first to catch our eyes is the world’s first dual fingerprint scanner, which means the HUAWEI Mate RS allows you to not only unlock your screen with the rear scanner, but it also gives you the ability to unlock your screen through its screen. You can tap your screen with your thumb to readily grant yourself access to your content.

The second feature that stood out is the Leica triple camera setup that has a 40MP RGB sensor, 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens, along with a 5x hybrid zoom. It also comes with the world’s first AI image stabilisation on a smartphone camera.

We’ve witnessed what the 40MP can do on the HUAWEI P20, and so we can expect the same photo outcome on the HUAWEI Mate RS.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI is a gimmick no more as it has gained a tremendous amount of traction in recent years and Huawei caught on the trend at just the right time. The introduction of the world’s first AI processor on the HUAWEI Mate RS shows how serious the Chinese tech giant is to challenge other brands that are still using Qualcomm’s processors.

The AI processor can learn, understand and anticipate the user’s needs and tailors the performance of the smartphone for a better user experience.
