CapitaLand‘s Singapore Science Park (SSP) is bringing back Flavours of Tomorrow: The Future Food Lab for its third edition, running from 5 to 7 November at Geneo. This year’s programme adds a new pitch competition, the Global Agrifood Innovation Championship (GAIC), offering 30 startups a shot at an aggregated S$1 million investment pool and up to S$15,000 in cash prizes.

Key Takeaways
  • Flavours of Tomorrow: The Future Food Lab runs 5-7 November 2026 at Geneo, jointly organised by CapitaLand’s Singapore Science Park and Innovate360.
  • The debut Global Agrifood Innovation Championship (5-6 November) brings 30 startups from seven countries to pitch for up to S$15,000 in cash prizes and access to an aggregated S$1 million investment pool.
  • Public programming spans five themed Future Food Experience rooms, a retail marketplace of at least ten Singapore food brands, and chef demonstrations on 7 November.

A pitch competition with real money on the table

Making its debut at this year’s event, GAIC brings together 30 agri-food and agri-tech startups from South Korea, Thailand, Spain, the UK, the US, Canada and Singapore, pitching in a boxing ring-inspired format on 5 and 6 November. First place takes home S$10,000 cash plus a trophy, with further prizes for runner-up and four category awards covering innovation, sustainability, social impact and market readiness, on top of the aggregated S$1 million investment pool contributed by the event’s investor judges.

Judges and investors include Victor Chen, founder and chief executive of Foodland Ventures; Aline Mor, Head of R&D Singapore at Nestlé; Norio Asahara, Regional R&D Director at Glico Asia Pacific; and representatives from AgFunder, Hatch Blue and Thai Union Group, among others.

“Food systems face a simple test: can good ideas scale, and can they scale sustainably? GAIC puts that test on stage. We are bringing the region’s most promising agri-food founders face to face with the investors and corporates who can help them grow, and we are proud to do it in Singapore.”

Hands-on food tech experiences for the public

Beyond the competition, visitors can walk through five themed Future Food Experience rooms covering alternative proteins, vertical farming, insect protein, cultivated meat and fermentation, with tastings from participants including Fogo Fungi, Cremer Sustainable Foods, Papitto Gelato x Chef Ezekiel and Insectyumz. A retail marketplace will feature at least ten Singapore food brands, among them Qrunchi Granola, BeanGo, Faiz and Myristica Hill, while chefs Ezekiel Tan and Joyce from Wakamama will run cooking demonstrations on 7 November showing how some of these ingredients translate into everyday meals.

“SSP has long been home to companies and talent at the forefront of science and technology. Our vision for the rejuvenation of SSP extends beyond providing physical spaces for research and business. We are nurturing an R&D ecosystem where people and ideas connect.”

Chew Peet Mun, Managing Director of Investment and Development, CapitaLand Development (Singapore)

Flavours of Tomorrow runs daily from 10am to 5pm at The Canopy at Geneo, 1 Science Park Drive, with entry open to businesses, industry professionals and the public.
