WEX, Mastercard Launch APAC Fleet Payments Network

WEX and Mastercard have announced a strategic partnership to launch what they describe as Asia-Pacific’s first unified fleet payments network, bringing fuel, maintenance, tolling, parking and other expenses into a single payment experience.

The companies announced the partnership in Singapore on 12 October 2026. They said the programme is projected to process billions of dollars in annual transactions as it expands across key regional markets. The release did not name the markets or give a launch timeline.

Asia-Pacific fleet payments market

The partnership targets a fast-growing market. Fleet-card transaction volumes in Asia-Pacific were estimated at about US$310 billion in 2025, or 31 per cent of global volumes, and are projected to grow 14.3 per cent a year through 2030, according to figures cited by the companies from KPMG’s 2026 report Reinventing Fleet Payments and other industry data.

Despite that growth, fleet operators in the region still face fragmented data and siloed legacy payment systems. Fuel, maintenance, tolling and parking costs often sit across separate systems, which makes it harder for fleet managers to see the full picture and adds work to reconcile bills.

Three pillars of the fleet payments partnership

The partnership combines Mastercard’s global network with WEX’s more than 40 years of fleet management expertise. It rests on three pillars:

  • Unified payments and data infrastructure: an integrated experience that replaces fragmented legacy systems and brings traditional fleet costs together with broader business expenses in one view.
  • Actionable intelligence and control: real-time, configurable spend controls and automated insights built into business workflows, with reporting controls on line-item data such as fuel types and litres.
  • Future-ready mixed-energy fleet: support for traditional fuel, hybrid and electric vehicles under a single account with one consolidated invoice.

Matt Arthur, Vice President and General Manager of APAC Mobility at WEX, said: “This strategic partnership creates a smarter infrastructure that allows our customers to manage the transition to hybrid fleets and navigate economic volatility with total visibility over their operations.”

Anouska Ladds, Executive Vice President of Commercial and New Payment Flows for Asia Pacific at Mastercard, said: “By combining our global network with their deep industry expertise, we’re helping businesses move faster, operate smarter and prepare for what’s next.”
