StarHub to Acquire MyRepublic’s Mobile Business

StarHub will acquire the mobile business of MyRepublic in Singapore, the telco announced on 8 October 2026. MyRepublic Mobile will keep its own brand, and its customers will stay on their current plans without disruption. Completion depends on conditions precedent being met by both parties. The announcement did not disclose financial terms.

The deal builds on an existing relationship. MyRepublic Mobile customers are already being moved onto StarHub’s network in stages, which the companies say gives them a base for a smooth transition. StarHub invested in MyRepublic Broadband in 2021.

StarHub’s multi-brand mobile strategy

StarHub says the acquisition fits its multi-brand, multi-segment approach, with distinct brands sitting on its 5G+ network. The telco says it is investing in faster speeds and stronger indoor coverage.

StarHub CEO Nikhil Eapen described the deal as completing a multi-year journey that began with the 2021 broadband investment and ends in full ownership of MyRepublic across broadband and mobile. “With ongoing consolidation, we are bringing greater scale to invest more effectively in the networks, resilience and innovation that Singapore will increasingly depend on,” he said.

Matt Williams, StarHub’s CEO-designate, said different customers want different things from mobile, and the multi-brand model lets StarHub serve them while giving more people access to its network. MyRepublic Group CEO Vaughan Baker told customers that nothing changes for them and that continuity and quality of service remain the priority.
