Oritain has upgraded its Membership Programme with faster turnaround times and new intelligence tools, as businesses across Singapore and the wider region face growing pressure to prove where their products actually come from.
The forensic origin verification company said its enhanced Gold, Silver and Bronze membership tiers now combine origin testing with market intelligence, quicker access to results and more flexible ways to apply the data across sourcing, compliance and risk workflows. New features include secure API connections that let businesses feed verification data directly into daily operations, personalised customer insight reports that benchmark an organisation’s origin performance against market trends, and faster processing — including a 7-day Express turnaround for urgent cases and a 10-day standard turnaround at the Gold tier.
Oritain’s research found that 90 per cent of brands analysed through its Market Insights Programme recorded at least one garment containing cotton consistent with prohibited origins, despite widespread investment in traceability initiatives. At the same time, 60 per cent of consumers surveyed said they actively avoid products linked to untrustworthy origins.
“Supply chain transparency is no longer enough,” said Paul Bentham, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Oritain. “Organisations need trusted evidence, meaningful context and the ability to act quickly. This evolution of Membership combines world-leading origin verification with market intelligence and faster access to results, helping customers make better sourcing decisions with greater confidence.”
A verification gap in regional trade hubs
Businesses in Singapore and Hong Kong face a particular mix of consumer protection laws, trade regulations and mandatory climate disclosure rules that are pushing companies toward harder data to back up supply chain claims. Oritain’s research found a growing gap between what organisations can map in their supply chains and what they can independently verify is actually flowing through them — a challenge it says increasingly extends beyond cotton into leather, timber and other natural resource-based supply chains.
The company also found strong interest among suppliers in collaborating on origin verification and traceability, with manufacturing hubs including Vietnam, China and Indonesia showing the highest levels of interest in the region.
Bentham said the update reflects direct feedback from members. “This is also a direct result of listening to our members, they asked and we have delivered,” he said. “It means more value from their current programs, and another important step towards turning origin data into actionable supply chain intelligence.”
The refreshed Membership Programme is available now through Oritain’s Customer Portal.
