Nutanix has acquired Ryax Technologies, a French AI-driven compute orchestration and management platform company, to help enterprises accelerate agentic AI deployments across hybrid infrastructure.

Nutanix plans to fold Ryax’s GPU utilisation and smart scheduling technology into future releases of its Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and Nutanix Enterprise AI, giving customers a way to place AI workloads on the most cost-effective hardware across private data centres, hyperscalers and neoclouds. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Nutanix said the impact is not material to the company.

Solving the GPU shortage problem

The rapid growth of agentic AI has pushed up demand for inference workloads, and GPU shortages have led many organisations to split their compute across private data centres, hyperscalers and neoclouds to find available capacity. Ryax’s platform is designed to automate the underlying infrastructure, data, hardware and code so that AI projects can move from experimentation into production without the manual configuration this usually requires.

“Agentic AI requires a flexible architecture, simple operations and the ability to use infrastructure far more efficiently. Our acquisition of Ryax helps to directly answer the challenges enterprises face today with agentic AI infrastructure management,” said Rajiv Ramaswami, CEO of Nutanix.

Andry Razafinjatovo, CEO of Ryax Technologies, said the platform was built to give enterprises “seamless execution across hybrid infrastructure… handling the backend complexity so teams can deploy, scale and manage AI workflows from day one”. The Ryax team, based in France, will remain there and join Nutanix to continue developing the technology.
