Extreme Launches AI Agent for Networking in Asia

Extreme Networks has made its Agent ONE Coworker AI agent generally available to all Extreme Platform ONE customers worldwide, including businesses across Southeast Asia and India, as part of their existing subscription.

The agent is built to understand a customer’s specific network, mapping relationships across users, devices, applications and network conditions, and showing its reasoning alongside each recommendation so IT teams can validate before acting.

Built for stretched IT teams

Extreme’s pitch centres on a proactive “Nudge” skill that flags high-confidence issues before a team even asks, which the company says can resolve problems up to 15 times faster than reactive troubleshooting. Two conversational skills, Talk to Knowledge and Talk to Data, are designed to cut new engineer onboarding time by up to half, addressing what the company frames as a persistent regional talent gap.

A separate skill, Talk to Support, recommends fixes using live network context and escalates to Extreme’s support team when needed.

“Extreme Agent ONE Coworker understands the intricate details of your network environment, encompassing historical client experience and network performance,” said Nabil Bukhari, CTO and President of AI, Extreme Networks.

Framed around a regional trust gap

Extreme points to a McKinsey/Singapore EDB study showing nearly half of Southeast Asian companies have moved past AI pilots, against 35% globally, even as an IDC study found 48% worry about the security risks of autonomous AI agents. The company argues Agent ONE Coworker’s visible reasoning is meant to address that trust gap directly, rather than asking IT teams to act on recommendations they can’t see the working behind.
