Google is offering eligible students in Singapore and more than 140 other countries 12 months of free Google AI Plus, alongside discounts on Google AI Pro and new personalised study tools, as part of its back-to-school offers for the new academic year.

Free tier bundles Gemini Omni and 400GB storage

The Google AI Plus subscription, available to eligible students at zero cost, includes access to Gemini Omni for multimodal creation from video and other inputs, increased usage limits during exam periods, and 400GB of storage for academic files.

Students who want higher usage limits can upgrade to Google AI Pro at $7.28 a month, discounted from $28.99, which includes four times higher usage limits in Gemini, expanded AI features in Search, Gemini integration in Gmail and Google Docs, 5TB of storage, and YouTube Premium Lite. Adding YouTube Premium brings the bundle to $14.49 a month, down from $44.97. The promotions run until 31 December 2026.

New study tools launch alongside the offer

Google has also rolled out personalised study tools across Gemini and Search. A new Student Hub lets students set up classes and upload materials such as a syllabus, which Gemini then turns into a study notebook. Deep Research in Gemini Live allows students to develop multi-step research reports and talk through findings on the go, while interactive visualisations let Gemini generate functional 3D simulations for complex topics. Search adds customised practice quizzes alongside Lens-based lookup tools.
