Xiaomi has expanded its smart home appliance line-up in Singapore with a new Mijia Front Load Washer 8kg, joining its existing range of washer dryers with capacities up to 10.5kg. All Mijia smart washing machines currently sold in Singapore have achieved the 4-tick rating, the highest level of water conservation under PUB’s Mandatory Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme.

The Mijia Front Load Washer 8kg retails exclusively online at S$349 via mi.com and Xiaomi’s official Shopee and Lazada stores. The Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer 10.5kg (S$699) and Washer Dryer 9kg (S$599) are available at Xiaomi Stores, mi.com, and the brand’s official Shopee and Lazada storefronts.

Faster cycles and higher hygiene claims

The two washer dryer models feature an ultra-slim, extra-large 525mm drum for more tumbling space, along with Xiaomi’s Power Wash technology and a steam function the company says removes up to 99.99 per cent of bacteria, viruses and mites. Both offer a 59-minute wash-and-dry cycle, a 24-hour delay timer, and more than 30 wash programmes accessible via the touch panel or the Xiaomi Home app. They carry a two-year overall warranty and a 12-year warranty on the motor.

The 10.5kg model uses a Direct Drive motor in a 570mm-wide body aimed at larger households, while the 9kg version offers a more compact 535mm profile for smaller homes. The new 8kg washer is similarly equipped with Power Wash and steam cleaning, plus a 15-minute quick wash and a load-sensing system that automatically adjusts water volume to the size of the laundry load.

Smart home and voice control integration

All three models connect to the Xiaomi Home app for remote control of wash cycles, personalised programme recommendations and over-the-air updates, with Google and Alexa voice control also supported for starting or scheduling a wash. The expanded range positions Xiaomi to compete more broadly in Singapore’s smart home appliance segment, where energy and water efficiency ratings have become a key purchasing consideration for consumers.
