Huawei Singapore has unveiled the HUAWEI Pura 90s Series, its latest flagship smartphone line-up, built around the philosophy of “Now is Your Moment” and headlined by what the company describes as an industry-leading 200MP Ultra Large Sensor Telephoto Camera on the Pura 90s Pro Max.
Huawei said the series integrates hardware, software, chipset and AI to go beyond conventional smartphone photography, pushing forward on three fronts: telephoto macro capability, main camera performance and colour accuracy.
200MP telephoto headlines imaging upgrades
The Pura 90s Pro Max’s 200MP Ultra Large Sensor Telephoto Camera uses chip-level 200MP RAW real-time processing to enable crisp 20x telephoto video, paired with what Huawei calls industry-leading CIPA 7.0 image stabilisation to minimise handheld blur. The Pro Max also features an Ultra Lighting HDR Camera built around a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor for detailed, well-exposed backlit portraits, while the Pura 90s Pro supports macro shooting down to a 5cm minimum focus distance.
Huawei said its True-to-Colour Camera 2.0 system delivers a 43 per cent improvement in colour accuracy and a 34 per cent expansion in colour gamut processing compared with its previous Pura 80 series, aimed at more authentic, true-to-life reproduction.
AI editing and a new system assistant
- AI Composition acts as an intelligent framing assistant, recognising portraits, architecture and landscapes to guide shooting positions in real time
- AI De-glare removes window reflections, glass glare and screen interference to restore authentic skin tones and hidden details
- AI Move lets users isolate, move or duplicate elements within an image, with the system reconstructing backgrounds and harmonising lighting automatically
- The series introduces Celia, Huawei’s new system-level AI assistant, offering voice control, knowledge Q&A, content drafting and travel support including Petal Map routing and ride-hailing
Design, battery and durability
The series adopts a flat-edged display across the line-up under Huawei’s Rhythm of Colour design language. The Pura 90s Pro Max comes in Blush Gold, Orange Ocean and Graphite Black, with the Orange Ocean model featuring an industry-first Dual-tone Gradient Metal Mid-frame, while the Pura 90s Pro offers a lighter Guava Soda, Coconut White and Mulberry Black palette.
Both models pack a 6000mAh battery, with the Pura 90s Pro supporting 66W wired SuperCharge and the Pro Max stepping up to 100W wired SuperCharge. The front display on the Pro Max is protected by Anti-Reflection and Scratch-resistant Kunlun Glass, which Huawei says cuts screen reflections by up to 70 per cent and reduces everyday scratches and fingerprints.
