SailPoint has announced its intent to acquire Entro, a Tel Aviv-based specialist in non-human identity and credentials security, in a deal aimed at securing the explosion of machine identities created by enterprise AI agents.
The acquisition, unveiled on Monday, will fold Entro’s secrets discovery and non-human identity (NHI) scanning into SailPoint’s recently launched Agentic Fabric. As organisations rush to deploy autonomous AI agents, the number of machine identities, secrets, tokens and API keys inside corporate environments has grown faster than most security teams can track — the gap the deal is designed to close.
Securing the non-human identity layer
Entro brings agentless discovery across more than 1,000 NHI and agent types, covering over 1,200 credential types across 70-plus enterprise sources, including cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines and SaaS tools. The combination is designed to tie machine and agent identities back to accountable human owners, enabling what the companies describe as closed-loop remediation and the enforcement of zero-standing privileges.
Entro’s proprietary Non-Human Identity Detection and Response (NHIDR) capability will also allow SailPoint customers to monitor AI agents for behavioural anomalies in real time, expose over-privileged access and enforce least-privilege access at machine speed.
“The recent launch of our Agentic Fabric established a new paradigm for securing autonomous AI agents and non-human identities at scale, including native discovery, governance and protection. By bringing Entro’s powerful and complimentary technology into our SailPoint platform, we will be giving our customers an even bigger advantage: frictionless, complete visibility into every non-human identity and — crucially — the context and credentials they use to access critical corporate data,” said Mark McClain, CEO and Founder of SailPoint.
A bet on the agentic era
The deal reflects a wider shift in enterprise security, where perimeters matter less than understanding who — or what — is accessing data, and under what conditions. SailPoint, which lists on the Nasdaq under the ticker SAIL, has positioned itself around adaptive identity security in a landscape where non-human identities now significantly outnumber human ones.
Entro co-founder and CEO Itzik Alvas said the company was built to secure the modern cloud by discovering and protecting the volume of credentials and non-human identities powering it, adding that agentic workloads are making that identity layer increasingly critical to protect.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the third quarter of SailPoint’s 2027 fiscal year. Financial terms were not disclosed.
