93% Renewable Energy Coverage, PUE of 1.38
The headline figures from the report: Digital Realty achieved 93% global renewable energy coverage in 2025, an 18% increase from the prior year, with 205 sites matched with 100% renewable and emissions-free energy. The company contracted 1.7 GW of large-scale renewable energy capacity and reported a global Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.38, including a 1.31 PUE across its EMEA portfolio.
Water efficiency also improved: Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) across the global portfolio reached 0.59, a 15.7% improvement year-on-year, while water usage grew by only 3% between 2023 and 2025 despite the portfolio expanding by 34% in the same period. 45% of total water supply now comes from non-potable sources.

Singapore and APAC Context
Digital Realty operates data centres across Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Singapore has implemented data centre capacity controls and green certification requirements in recent years, making sustainability reporting increasingly material for operators with local infrastructure.
Six data centres delivered in 2025 achieved an average design PUE of 1.20, and the company has now accumulated 17.8 million square feet and 1.5 GW-IT under sustainable building certifications. Carbon neutral certification was received for operations in Denmark, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden, covering 42% of the European portfolio by IT capacity.
“Our 8th annual Impact Report demonstrates our commitment to build, power and operate better, more sustainable data centers while remaining focused on innovation and deeper collaborations to ensure responsible growth in the years ahead.” — Aaron Binkley, VP Sustainability, Digital Realty
