SailPoint Integrates with Claude Compliance API to Secure Enterprise AI Access

SailPoint has announced a new integration with Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API, extending enterprise-grade identity security controls to AI platforms as organisations grapple with governance gaps in how AI tools are provisioned and accessed.

Closing the AI governance gap

As enterprises accelerate their adoption of large language model platforms, a new category of access risk has emerged. Unlike conventional enterprise software, AI tools such as Claude are frequently provisioned without the same identity governance rigour applied to other systems — creating blind spots around who has access, under what conditions, and with what data privileges.

SailPoint’s integration with the Claude Compliance API addresses this directly. By bringing AI platform access within the scope of SailPoint’s identity security framework, organisations can apply consistent lifecycle management, access certification, and policy enforcement to AI tool usage — the same controls applied to cloud applications, databases, and enterprise SaaS.

Identity security for the agentic era

The integration is particularly timely as enterprises move towards agentic AI deployments, where AI systems act autonomously on behalf of users and may require elevated or persistent access to sensitive data and workflows. Without identity governance, these access relationships are difficult to audit or revoke.

SailPoint has positioned identity security as foundational infrastructure for AI adoption, arguing that governance cannot be retrofitted after deployment. The Claude Compliance API integration represents an extension of that thesis into the emerging category of AI platform security — a space where few established controls currently exist.
