Google Brings Search Live to 200-Plus Countries

Google has expanded Search Live globally, making its real-time, multimodal search feature available in more than 200 countries and territories — anywhere that AI Mode is supported.

What Search Live Does

Search Live allows users to hold interactive, back-and-forth conversations with Google Search using voice and camera input. Rather than typing a query, users can speak directly to the Google app and receive an audio response, then continue with follow-up questions or tap through to web links for more detail.

The camera function lets users point their device at a physical object — a piece of furniture being assembled, for instance — and receive contextual suggestions based on what the camera sees. Search Live is also accessible directly from Google Lens, where users can tap into a live conversation about whatever the camera is pointed at in real time.

Powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Live

The global rollout is enabled by Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, a new audio and voice model that Google says delivers more natural conversations. The model is inherently multilingual, allowing users to interact with Search in their preferred language — a key enabler for the breadth of the expansion.

Search Live is available on the Google app for Android and iOS. Users can access it by tapping the Live icon beneath the Search bar.
