Global managed hosting provider 20i has launched a new data centre in Singapore, expanding its infrastructure footprint in Asia-Pacific as demand rises for high-performance cloud hosting in the region.

The Singapore data centre allows customers across APAC to deploy autoscaling cloud hosting closer to end users, reducing latency and improving website performance. The move marks a milestone in 20i’s international growth strategy and strengthens its presence in one of Asia’s key digital hubs.

Singapore data centre targets APAC performance needs

The facility is housed in a Tier 3 data centre operated by Equinix, offering high levels of physical security, network density and resilience. According to the company, the location enables faster access to its proprietary autoscaling hosting stack for customers across South and Southeast Asia, as well as parts of East Asia and Oceania.

Services delivered from the Singapore data centre include reseller hosting, managed WordPress hosting and cloud servers. These offerings are optimised for users in markets such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, alongside Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan and Australia.

By hosting workloads closer to regional audiences, businesses can improve Time to First Byte (TTFB), reduce bounce rates and increase engagement on business-critical websites and ecommerce platforms, the company said.

Autoscaling cloud hosting without single-server limits

Unlike traditional single-server hosting models, 20i’s autoscaling cloud hosting dynamically allocates resources in real time based on demand. This approach allows websites and applications to maintain performance during traffic spikes, without being constrained by fixed limits on memory or processing capacity.

Workloads are distributed across a fully redundant infrastructure, supported by intelligent autoscaling and enterprise-grade load balancing. Resources such as PHP workers and memory are assigned automatically as needed, removing single points of failure and reducing the risk of service disruption.

The company added that redundant, high-capacity routing and smart traffic management help ensure low latency and fault tolerance, even during periods of extreme load.

Sustainability and security standards

In line with its sustainability commitments, the Singapore data centre is powered by 100 per cent renewable energy. The facility also meets international compliance and security requirements, including ISO 27001 certification, strict access controls and continuous environmental monitoring.

Lloyd Cobb, director at 20i, said the launch reflects the company’s ambition to deliver consistent hosting performance globally.

“The launch of our Singapore data centre is a major milestone in our mission to deliver world-class hosting experiences globally,” Cobb said. “We’re incredibly excited to bring our most advanced, high-performance hosting platform to Asia, giving customers across the APAC region local access to a resilient, ultra-fast hosting platform.”
