Singtel and Tencent Games have announced the launch of Honor of Kings ∙ Cloud (HoK ∙ Cloud), powered by Singtel’s 5G network slicing technology. The deployment marks the world’s first nationwide use of 5G network slicing for cloud gaming, offering smoother and more competitive play without the need for high-end hardware.

With cloud rendering and processing handled remotely, players can access the game on any mobile device without heavy downloads. Singtel said its network slicing capability also supports real-time processing for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and generative AI applications such as smart glasses.

A new milestone in mobile gaming

“We’re delivering ultra-low latency that gamers need to compete seamlessly, anytime and anywhere,” said Keith Leong, Managing Director, Enterprise, Singtel Singapore. “No one else has applied network slicing at this scale — and that truly takes the gaming experience to another level.”

Tencent added that the collaboration represents “a deep integration of 5G networks with cloud gaming”, enhancing real-time interactivity for players.

HoK, a popular multiplayer online battle arena game with a massive global player base, will begin network slicing trials for its cloud version in Singapore from October 2025. The full release is planned for November 2025 via Singtel’s new TxStore, before expanding to the Google Play Store and other platforms.

TxStore launch with exclusive rewards

Singtel is also debuting TxStore in Singapore, starting with Android users. The store will launch with 30 popular titles including PUBG MOBILE. Gamers from any telco can subscribe, but Singtel customers will receive exclusive perks such as up to 55 per cent discounts on in-game purchases, a S$6 credit for new accounts, and bonus in-game credits for unlocking skins and heroes.

Payments can be made via credit cards, GrabPay, PayNow, Google Pay, and soon through Singtel billing. The store will later expand to include entertainment apps alongside games.

Cloud gaming market outlook

The global cloud gaming market is expected to grow from US$5.32 billion in 2025 to nearly US$40 billion by 2030, according to Mordor Intelligence, driven largely by 5G rollout and rising smartphone adoption in Asia-Pacific.

To optimise gameplay, Singtel’s 5G+ technology employs features such as:

App-based Slice Routing – directing all cloud gaming traffic through a prioritised network lane. 5G Latency Priority Scheduling – developed with Ericsson, prioritising time-critical data such as player commands and in-game animations.

Gamers will need URSP-enabled devices to fully access the enhanced network slicing experience.

Beyond gaming

Singtel has previously deployed network slicing at large-scale events such as the National Day Parade and Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, as well as in sectors including healthcare, public safety, and logistics. The company said the HoK ∙ Cloud milestone demonstrates its continued investment in advanced 5G applications for both consumers and enterprises.

HoK ∙ Cloud will be available on TxStore in November 2025, with further distribution planned across global app platforms. Singtel said it will continue expanding its 5G+ network slicing applications across industries, positioning Singapore at the forefront of digital innovation.
