vivo has unveiled its most advanced foldable smartphone to date – the X Fold5 – a premium flagship aimed at power users, boasting ultra-lightweight design, class-leading display brightness, and AI-enhanced productivity features.
Launching officially in Singapore on 8 August 2025, the vivo X Fold5 weighs just 217g, making it lighter than many traditional flagship devices. It pairs cutting-edge hardware with premium craftsmanship, headlined by a vivid ZEISS Master Colour Display, robust water and dust resistance, and a powerful 6000 mAh BlueVolt battery.
Ultra-light foldable built for work, travel, and play
The X Fold5 features a 0.92 cm folded profile and introduces vivo’s latest kinematic hinge, designed to withstand 600,000 folds while significantly reducing screen creasing over time. With IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance, IP5X dust resistance, and low-temperature tolerance down to -20°C, vivo claims the device is built for both boardroom and outdoor resilience.
Brightest displays ever in a vivo foldable

With a peak brightness of 4500 nits on both the 8.03-inch main display and 6.53-inch cover display, the X Fold5 is billed as vivo’s brightest foldable yet. The AMOLED panels support 2K+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, offering enhanced clarity even under direct sunlight.
ZEISS-enhanced imaging with 100x zoom
The X Fold5 continues vivo’s long-running partnership with ZEISS, bringing professional-grade imaging to a foldable form factor. The triple 50MP camera setup includes:
- 50MP ZEISS Telephoto with 3x optical zoom and 100x HyperZoom
- 50MP Main Camera powered by Sony’s IMX921 sensor with VCS True Color
- 50MP Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera with a 120° field of view
ZEISS T* coating helps reduce flare and ghosting, delivering enhanced colour fidelity and contrast – what vivo calls the distinctive “ZEISS Look”.
AI-powered tools for serious productivity
The X Fold5 runs on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, offering up to 30% faster CPU and 25% improved GPU performance. It also supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for responsive multitasking.
On the software front, vivo is leaning into productivity with features such as:
- Origin Workbench for running up to five apps simultaneously
- DocMaster, which enables real-time PDF editing and format conversions
- AI Transcript Assist and Smart Call Assistant for real-time meeting transcriptions, summaries and translations
In addition, the X Fold5 integrates Google Gemini, providing a built-in personal AI assistant to help with writing, scheduling, and content generation.
Long-lasting battery with fast and wireless charging
Powering the X Fold5 is an Equivalent 6000 mAh BlueVolt Battery – the largest in any vivo foldable – with 80W Dual-Cell FlashCharge and Wireless FlashCharge support. Built on semi-solid state battery technology, it promises efficient power delivery and longer battery life.
