Over 60 youths aged 15 to 25 will be equipped with real-world career insights and personalised mentorship as part of a new initiative jointly launched by Tata Group and the People’s Association (PA) on Saturday (Jul 19). The Tata-PA Youth Career Exploration & Mentorship Programme aims to prepare young Singaporeans from diverse backgrounds for the rapidly evolving job market.
The three-month programme, unveiled at Heartbeat@Bedok, brings together Tata’s local entities – including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tata Communications, Air India, Titan and others – to provide hands-on learning through company visits, role-specific mentoring, and reflection sessions.
Each participant will be paired with a dedicated mentor leader from Tata, aligned with their career aspirations. The initiative is tailored to bridge the gap between classroom education and practical business knowledge, offering bi-weekly visits to Tata companies and career pathway insights.
“At TCS, we are committed to creating opportunities that empower individuals and uplift communities,” said Girish Ramachandran, President, Growth Markets at TCS. “The programme embodies our shared commitment to nurturing young talent, fostering innovation and helping youths unlock their potential.”
Community-Backed Collaboration
Launched in partnership with PA’s Project We Care (PWC), and supported by grassroots organisations from East Coast and Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRCs, the initiative reinforces a collective effort to support Singapore’s youth.
Mr Kia Siang Wei, Group Director (Partnership) at PA, highlighted the programme’s broader impact: “We are proud to be the community enabler and catalyst. By bringing together industry leaders and our young talent, we nurture collaboration and spark the bonds that bind our community together.”
The launch event was officiated by Senior Minister of State for Health and Digital Development, Mr Tan Kiat How, alongside Tata and PA leadership.
Strengthening the Digital Future

This initiative builds on the TCS-PA Alliance for Community Empowerment (ACE), which supports underprivileged communities through education and innovation. Supported by the TCS-PA Empowerment Fund, it also aligns with Singapore’s Smart Nation vision by fostering digital readiness among youths.
The mentorship programme serves as a strategic investment in future generations, reinforcing Tata’s commitment to inclusive community development. “By working closely with the community as One Tata Group, we aim to play a meaningful role in building a stronger, more resilient Singapore,” Mr Ramachandran added.
