MG’s newest electric SUV, the MG S5 EV, has arrived—delivering a compelling mix of performance, practicality and technology aimed squarely at urban drivers seeking value without compromise.
Unveiled by Eurokars EV in April, the official MG distributor in Singapore, the launch at Suntec City signalled the brand’s growing confidence in the competitive electric vehicle (EV) market. With a best-in-class city range of 560km and comprehensive safety features, the MG S5 EV is positioned to challenge rivals in both capability and price point.
“The MG S5 EV isn’t just another urban electric SUV; it’s a strategic leap,” said Raymond Ng, Managing Director of Eurokars EV. “It outperforms the segment’s leading model across all key performance indicators.”
Power Meets Practicality

At the heart of the S5 EV is a 62kWh battery powering a 99kW rear-wheel drive motor that delivers 250Nm of torque. While its 0 to 100km/h time of 9.9 seconds may not turn heads, it’s the claimed 425km WLTP combined range and rapid DC charging—from 10% to 80% in 26 minutes—that give it real-world usability and long-distance credibility.
Agile handling is enhanced by a tight 10.53m turning radius, while stopping power is notable, with braking from 100km/h completed in just 35.5 metres.
Room to Move
The S5 EV’s extended wheelbase and thoughtful cabin layout offer best-in-class interior space, with 453 litres of boot capacity—expandable to 1,423 litres with the rear seats folded. Whether for daily commutes or weekend road trips, it promises room for both passengers and luggage.
Design-wise, the SUV adopts MG’s new “emotional design” language, featuring sleek lines and modern accents. It comes in a choice of four exterior colours including Soul Blue and Flare Red, matched with elegant interior themes in White & Beige or classic Black.
Tech-Forward Driving Experience

A 12.8-inch HD touchscreen takes centre stage inside, offering support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and access to integrated apps like Spotify, YouTube, and even TikTok. A 10.25-inch digital driver’s display provides clear vehicle data, while the MG iSMART app enables remote access and real-time vehicle monitoring.
Safety Without Shortcuts
MG isn’t skimping on safety. The S5 EV is equipped with MG Pilot, a full suite of 16 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Braking.
Its structural safety is also no afterthought—the SUV has been engineered to meet EURO NCAP 5-star standards, and comes with seven airbags and four pretensioner seatbelts.
As EV adoption continues to rise in Singapore, MG’s latest offering could shake up the entry-level electric SUV segment – especially for drivers looking to stretch every dollar without cutting back on tech or range.
