Progress, a provider of AI-powered digital experience and infrastructure software, has named Ed Keisling as its first Chief AI Officer (CAIO). In this newly established role, Keisling will spearhead the company’s AI strategy and further integrate AI capabilities into its product portfolio. He will report directly to Progress CEO Yogesh Gupta.

Keisling, previously the Senior Vice President of Engineering for Infrastructure Management at Progress, brings over three decades of experience in technology leadership, specialising in complex system architectures, cloud computing, and large-scale infrastructure management.
“Ed is a transformational technology leader with a proven track record of driving change,” said Gupta. “He has played a key role in advancing our AI vision and innovation efforts. His ability to bridge engineering execution with strategic business goals is shaping our AI-first approach as we align our product offerings to the rapidly evolving needs of our customers.”
Progress, which delivers AI-powered solutions to hundreds of thousands of customers globally, is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven business transformation.

Before joining Progress, Keisling held executive positions at Vecna Technologies, overseeing engineering, IT, DevOps, support, program management, and analytics. He also spent over 17 years in senior engineering roles at Pegasystems. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he contributes to engineering development programmes such as the UNH Pathways Program and the MIT Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program (UPOP), where he serves as a mentor and presenter.
