Adobe Unveils Firefly Video Model, Expanding AI-Powered Creativity in Video Production

Adobe has announced the public beta release of the Firefly Video Model, the industry’s first commercially safe AI video generation tool. Now available in the Firefly web app with Generate Video (beta) and in Adobe Premiere Pro with Generative Extend (beta), the new model enables creative professionals to generate IP-friendly video content suitable for production.

This launch is the latest addition to Adobe’s Firefly family, which has already powered the creation of over 18 billion assets globally. With a focus on commercial safety, high-quality output, and intuitive creative control, Firefly’s new capabilities are already gaining traction with brands and agencies such as Dentsu, Gatorade, and Stagwell, who are using the video model in beta for real-world applications.

Advanced AI Video Creation for Professionals

The Generate Video (beta) feature within the Firefly web app introduces a range of AI-powered tools that allow users to:

  • Generate video clips from text prompts or images
  • Control camera angles and cinematic movement
  • Create high-quality images from 3D sketches
  • Develop atmospheric elements and motion design

Initially supporting 1080p resolution, the model offers a lower-resolution ideation mode for rapid iterations, with a 4K production-ready version expected soon. Adobe envisions the tool benefiting creative professionals, enterprises, entertainment brands, and media agencies looking to accelerate video production while maintaining creative integrity.

“Firefly is designed for creative professionals looking for unmatched creative control and IP-friendly tools that can be used safely and effectively in production,” said David Wadhwani, President of Adobe’s Digital Media Business.

“We’ve been thrilled to hear from beta customers who’ve found it a game-changer for ideating concepts and producing stunning videos, and we can’t wait to see how the creative community uses it to bring their stories to the world.”

New Features: AI-Driven Scene Creation, Translation, and More

Adobe’s new Firefly capabilities extend beyond video generation, offering features designed to enhance 3D visualization, localization, and workflow efficiency:

  • Scene to Image (beta) – Converts 3D sketches into professional-grade images, allowing users to adjust angles and perspectives for more precise output.
  • Translate Audio and Video – Enables multi-language translation while preserving authentic voice, tone, and cadence, reducing the need for manual dubbing and post-production edits.

A Unified AI Creative Platform

With the new Firefly web application, Adobe is creating a one-stop AI-powered creative hub, allowing users to:

  • Generate, edit, and refine images, videos, and 3D content
  • Seamlessly transition between Firefly and Adobe Creative Cloud apps, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Express
  • Maintain creative consistency with Firefly-powered tools such as Generative Fill in Photoshop and Generative Remove in Lightroom

The integration of Firefly across Adobe’s ecosystem ensures that creative teams can go from ideation to production with minimal friction, making the process faster, more intuitive, and commercially secure.

New Firefly Pricing Plans for Flexible AI Access

To support a range of users, Adobe has introduced two new Firefly plans with tiered pricing:

  • Firefly Standard ($9.99/month) – Includes 2,000 video/audio credits and up to 20 five-second 1080p video generations per month.
  • Firefly Pro ($29.99/month) – Offers 7,000 video/audio credits and up to 70 five-second 1080p video generations per month.

A Firefly Premium plan for high-volume content creators is also in development, aimed at providing greater capacity for professional and enterprise users.

Firefly’s Impact on the Creative Industry

Adobe’s Firefly AI models have already transformed creative workflows across industries, with major brands like Deloitte, IBM, and IPG Health leveraging its capabilities to scale content production. Agencies such as Dentsu and Stagwell have expressed enthusiasm about Firefly’s potential to streamline video production while ensuring on-brand, commercially safe content.

Commitment to Responsible AI and Content Transparency

Adobe continues to champion ethical AI development with Firefly, ensuring that all AI-generated content is commercially safe and trained only on licensed and public domain content—never on customer data.

Through initiatives like the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) and Content Credentials, Adobe is promoting transparency in AI-generated content. All Firefly Video Model outputs will include Content Credentials, allowing users to verify AI-generated content via the Adobe Content Authenticity web app.

What’s Next for Firefly?

With new Firefly features and pricing plans now available, Adobe is setting the stage for a new era of AI-powered creativity. As Firefly evolves, creative professionals and enterprises can expect even greater control, resolution, and efficiency—pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI-assisted video production.
