Amazon has strengthened its foothold in Singapore with the launch of its new Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific Hub at IOI Central Boulevard. The corporate office, officially inaugurated today by Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information, is designed to foster collaboration, learning, and innovation as AWS continues to expand across Southeast Asia.
As the anchor tenant of IOI Central Boulevard’s East Tower, Amazon occupies over 360,000 square feet of workspace – large enough to accommodate up to 3,000 employees. This marks Amazon’s second corporate office in Singapore’s Central Business District, complementing its existing premises at Asia Square, which opened in 2021. With a workforce of over 2,500 employees in Singapore spanning cloud, corporate, retail, technology, and operations functions, Amazon continues to grow its presence, currently offering more than 100 job openings in its cloud business and corporate sectors.
Why It Matters
The expansion comes as AWS commits to investing an additional S$12 billion in Singapore’s cloud infrastructure between 2024 and 2028. This investment is expected to contribute S$23.7 billion to Singapore’s GDP by 2028 and support approximately 12,300 full-time equivalent jobs in local businesses annually.
“AWS’s new regional office in Singapore represents our deepening commitment to Singapore and serves as a strategic hub for digital transformation across ASEAN,” said Jeff Johnson, Managing Director, ASEAN, Amazon Web Services. “Designed as a collaborative space, it connects AWS leaders with industry partners, enterprises, and innovators to advance technology development in Southeast Asia.”
A Hub for Collaboration and Digital Transformation

Spanning eight floors, the new AWS office houses over 100 teams supporting both local and regional operations. More than just a workspace, it serves as a centre for innovation, offering customers and partners dedicated areas for brainstorming, technical workshops, and networking.
Among the key features of the office are:
- Amazon’s First Inclusion and Sustainability Gallery – Showcasing interactive exhibits on Amazon’s climate action initiatives, diverse hiring efforts, and community impact programmes. Sustainability was also a core design principle, with upcycled door desks and artworks from decommissioned sites.
- AWS’s First Flagship Executive Briefing Centre in Asia – A dedicated space where AWS experts engage with enterprises on their cloud journey through deep-dive presentations, technical demonstrations, and strategic discussions.
- AWS Asia-Pacific Innovation Hub – Set to open in Q3 this year, this facility will inspire and empower businesses to drive digital transformation with hands-on experiences of AWS technologies.
- Amazon Candidate Experience Centre – A welcoming space designed to provide job seekers with a comfortable environment for interview preparation.
- Cultural and Recreational Spaces – The office celebrates Amazon’s leadership principles and Asian heritage with collaboration spaces named after regional landmarks. Employees and visitors can also unwind in pantries with game tables and interactive board games.
A Strategic Investment in Singapore’s Tech Future
The launch of the AWS Asia Pacific Hub underscores Amazon’s long-term commitment to Singapore as a key technology and cloud computing hub in the region. By providing a dynamic space for collaboration, innovation, and talent development, AWS aims to drive the digital transformation of businesses across Southeast Asia while reinforcing Singapore’s status as a global tech leader.
