Singtel has announced that it will be offering Perplexity Pro, an advanced AI-powered search service, to its broadband, TV, and mobile users. This marks a significant step in making generative AI tools more accessible, catering to the growing demand for intelligent search solutions in Singapore.
Unlike traditional search engines that flood users with endless links, Perplexity Pro simplifies the online search experience by delivering concise, conversational answers with in-line citations. This helps users avoid the dreaded information overload, making tasks like travel planning, academic research, and even competitive business analysis faster and easier.
Singtel customers can activate their free one-year subscription, valued at approximately S$270, through a unique code provided in the My Singtel App.
Generative AI is quickly becoming a global phenomenon, with the market projected to grow from S$54.7 billion in 2022 to an eye-popping S$1.8 trillion by 2032. Singtel has seen a more than 20% spike in broadband and mobile traffic to AI assistant domains over the past six months, demonstrating surging local interest in AI-powered tools.
